A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a small mill in order to process corn in her house.

Gloria Esmeralda's story

Gloria is 28 years old. She is married and has two children. She has worked her whole life selling corn tamales, which she learnt from her mother. She travels 5 kilometres to get to the city where she buys the corn, as this is where it is sold at the best price.

She is requesting this loan to buy a small mill in order to process the corn in her house. This is because it is very expensive and far away to travel to another person's mill every day. Apart from this, she will buy other things for her house. This is why she says that she will save time and money. Also, she will be able to offer her services to other people. Gloria wants to work hard in order to buy a house for her children.
