A loan of $1,075 helped to renovate his house and business.

Jose Antonio's story

Jose, 51, lives and works with his wife and son in the Valle Hermoso Parish in the city of Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo is the fourth largest city in Ecuador and, therefore, is one of the most important cities in the country. It has a warm climate and is 655 meters above sea level, about 100 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. At 0 degrees latitude, its average temperature is between 18 and 33 degrees Celcius in summer. In the winter it usually above 23 or 24 degrees. The closest beach is called "Pedernales". Its population is growing rapidly due to its strong commerce and the fact that it is one of the largest livestock markets in the country.

Jose is a person with a great sense of responsibility, having established his own grocery store ten years ago in his house to provide an income for his family.

Jose believes the Kiva loans are a good option because getting a bank or financial institution loan is very difficult due to the many documents and guarantees required.

The loan Jose is requesting is to renovate his house and expand his business so he can better attend to his customers and increase his earnings, thereby offering all of his family a better quality of life since they all depend on him.
