A loan of $725 helped to pay for more stocks of phone accessories needed in her business.

Panchita's story

This is Panchita, 60, a resident of Payatas, Philippines. She is married to Edgardo, a driver, and is a mother to her child. She, together with her husband, manages their household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for her everyday expenses.

Panchita operates a phone accessories retail business. What she basically does is buy accessory items from a wholesaler and sell them per piece/pack for a profit. Products can range from cell phone accessories like headphones, cell phone holders, and other products of the like. Customers are attracted to buy due to the low selling prices and the many options she offers. She also has a loading (pre-paid credits) station. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of 500 Philippine pesos (PHP) in sales every day.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a Php 30,000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy more quantities and varieties of accessory products to expand her product inventory. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Panchita hopes to expand her business soon and to give her family a good future. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
