A loan of $775 helped to purchase fertilizer for her plants.

Juana's story

Juana is 45 years old and is a very driven woman. Thanks to her hard work she was able to acquire her own home, where she currently lives with her three children, whom she loves as their mother and father.

Juana is a peasant. Her parents taught her the trade when she was a very young child. She has been farming her own land for sixteen years. She grows cocoa beans, coffee, and coca leaf. She knows very well that the money she obtains is for producing good-quality products, which she sells locally. What she enjoys most about her work is harvesting, because it makes her feel like she is being rewarded for the months of hard work. On the other hand, the hardest part is transporting the products from her farmland to where they are placed to dry, because the sacks are heavy. Her greatest desire is for her children to become decent adults and have a better quality of life than her.

This is her ninth loan with MFP. She knows this money will help her business advance. She is very well-loved by her fellow members at the communal bank because she is very supportive.

She will use these 2,000 nuevos soles to purchase fertilizer for her plants.
