A loan of $775 helped to buy fertilizer.

Jorge's story

Jorge, 36, is single and has a son in his care. He has lived in his own house for more than 30 years located in Caserío Pedregal Alto, Valle de los Incas in Tambogrande District, an agricultural zone with regular commercial activity located in Piura Province more than four hours from the city of Chiclayo. He lives in the rural part of this district and still does not have basic utilities.

Jorge’s activity is agriculture. He currently has a 1.5 hectare parcel of farmland planted with mango and lemons that he harvests and sells weekly. He’s been doing this for more than 15 years but also raises sheep and barnyard fowl that he sells in the local market too. His parents help him with the work he does.

Jorge’s excited and quite happy about the work he does. He wants to insure a good crop yield so has decided to apply fertilizers and pesticides to his crops so that the mangoes and lemons will develop properly. Since he does not have sufficient capital to do so, he’s had to request a 2000 new sol loan from Edpyme Alernativa for the first time.

Jorge is a responsible, enterprising young man. His greatest wish is to continue working in order to acquire his own land. People who know him consider him to be calm and trustworthy.
