A loan of $475 helped to buy coffee plants and fertilizer.

Armando's story

Armando has worked in the fields since he was a young man and produces various crops like sugarcane, corn, beans and bananas although his main income-producing crop is coffee. His father taught him how to do this kind of work.

Armando’s last harvest yield was four tons of organic coffee. He commented that his usual crop yield is higher but this time unfavorable weather conditions affected it.

He needs to buy new plants to replant next time because some of the ones he now has have reached the end of their productive cycle. He also needs to fertilize and do the weeding which is why he needs the loan.

If he carries out these activities, he will be able to attain greater crop yields like he’d been getting in years past. With profits obtained from the harvest he plans to buy land because he wants to plant corn; he also wants to do some home improvements.
