A loan of $600 helped to buy agricultural inputs, fertilizer, urea, manure, and liquid weedkiller.

Johnny Jose's story

Johnny José, 41, is in a common-law marriage and has one child. He lives with his son in Ventanas, in the province of Los Ríos. He's a member of 30 de Julio Communal Bank, located in the Zapotal Nuevo area of Ventanas Canton, where the people make a living in agriculture.

Johnny José works in agriculture growing rice, beans, and corn. He's requesting the loan to buy agricultural inputs, fertilizer, urea, manure, and liquid weedkiller.

He'll buy and sell his products in the city of Ventanas every two weeks. With the help of the loan he'll be able to buy the agricultural inputs.

He faces challenges such as pests and the "lancha" fungus in his crops. His dream is to be successful in life. In his free time he likes to play sports.
