The Makarimal Akhlah economic interest group (GIE) was created on 10th October 2003 in Senegal. The term "Makarimal Akhlakh" means a person who has a good heart and good practices. The number of members of the GIE has reached 300 since 2009. Its objective is to unite its members and allow them to exercise farming and fishing activities, general import and export trading activities, transport, industrial, artisanal, building, livestock farming, mining, fishing, hydrocarbon exploitation, art and cultural, printing, carpentry, public usage services, representative, transformation of fishing and farming produce, sale of spare parts, ice-cream making, and bakery businesses, as well as the provision of other services. The GIE also aims to conslidate friendship and solidarity links between its members so that they can obtain the material and financial means necessary to develop their income-generating activities and benefit from all the advantages relating to the GIE. Within this context a protocol agreement has been signed between the GIE and UIMCEC to benefit the members of the GIE at national level. The first phase has been applied to a sample of 120 active members, divided into 12 groups of 10.

Makarimal Akhlakh Group 4 is a grouping of 10 members of the GIE who share the same market, where they carry out their trading activities. They are represented by Dieynaba who is the one with her hand raised on the photo. She has been selling fruit since 1989. Her working day begins at 5 o'clock every morning. She is member of one of the UIMCEC branches and is requesting a loan to buy fruits for resale. Her aim is to diversify the fruits she sells so that she can increase her profits to improve her family's nutritional conditions and save some money. She would like to succeed in exploiting fruit trees in large fields in the future.

Le groupement d’intérêt économique dénommé GIE MAKARIMAL AKHLAH est né le 10 octobre 2003 au Sénégal. Le terme Makarimal Akhlakh symbolise une personne qui a un bon cœur, de bonnes pratiques. Le GIE a atteint le nombre de 300 adhérents depuis 2009. Son objectif est d’unir ses membres et de leur permettre d’exercer des activités de production agricole et halieutique, de commerce général d’import export et de transport, d’industrie, d’artisanat, de bâtiments , d’élevage, d’exploitation minière, de pêche, d’exploitation d’hydrocarbures, d’art et de culture, d’imprimerie et de menuiserie bois, de services et d’action d’utilité publique, de représentation, de transformation de produits halieutiques, d’agriculture , de vente de pièces détachées, de fabrique de glace , de boulangerie et de prestations de services divers. Le GIE vise aussi a consolider des liens d’amitié et de solidarité entre ses membres pour leur permettre d’acquérir des moyens matériels et financiers nécessaires au développement de leurs activités génératrices de revenus et de bénéficier de tous les avantages liés au GIE. Et c’est dans cette mouvance qu’un protocole d’accord a été signé entre le GIE et UIMCEC au bénéfice des membres du GIE au niveau national. La première phase a porté sur un échantillon de 120 membres actifs divisés en 12 groupes de 10.
Makarimal Akhlakh groupe 4 regroupe 10 membres du GIE qui partagent le meme marché ou ils exercent leurs activités de commerce. Ils sont représentés par madame Dieynaba qui apparait sur la photo, main levée. Elle pratique la vente de fruits depuis 1989. Sa journée de travail démarre chaque jour à 5 heures du matin. Elle est membre d’un guichet de l’UIMCEC et sollicite un crédit prévu pour l’achat de fruits à revendre. Son intention est de diversifier les fruits qu’elle commercialise afin d’accroitre ses bénéfices pour améliorer les conditions alimentaires de sa famille et épargner de l’argent. Elle souhaite dans le futur réussir l’exploitation d’arbres fruitiers dans les grands champs.

UIMCEC is a government-regulated microfinance institution whose mission is to improve the revenue and well-being of families through access to financial services, allowing principally women and young adult micro-entrepreneurs living in rural and semi-rural areas to develop their revenue-generating businesses and supporting them in becoming financially self-sufficient.
