Living in thatched roof house in a rural area of the SangKe district, Battambang province, Sengly is 43 years old and he lives with his wife and four children, one son of whom is dependent on him and still in school. He makes a living through working as a motor taxi driver which he has been in this occupation for almost twenty years while his wife is a rice farmer. Low crop yield is still the main challenge for their business.

Sengly is the first cycled client with VisionFund while the other member is also the first cycled client. Now he and his group member are requesting a loan with VisionFund of KHR1,000,000 each. As the group leader, Sengly is going to use his portion to buy fertilizers and rice seeds for his farmland. He hopes this loan will enable him to increase more income so as to make a living better and keep his son in school.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
