Da's Group's story

Living in a rural village of the Kampong Cham province’s Ponhea Krek district, Cambodia, Da is 25 years old and she is married with four children, one daughter and three sons, all of whom are dependent on her and still in school. She is a rice farmer on 1.7 hectare of farmland while her husband is a car taxi driver, which they have been in this business for several years to make a living. The current business earns them approximately 27,000KHR per day to meet the family’s needs.

Da has been with VisionFund for three cycles and completely paid back the loans while the other member has been with VisionFund for two cycles. The past loans have helped her relieve family’s burden and improve livelihood. Now she and her group member are asking for a loan of 2,000,000KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and use a portion of it to buy piglets for raising to earn additional income. Da hopes this loan will enable her to increase more income so as to make a good living and keep her children in school.
