A loan of $975 helped to buy various sacks of fertilizers and guano from farmyard birds.

Margarita's story

Margarita, age 41, is married to 42 year old Fernando, and they have four children. They live together in their own house in a rural zone.

She is a farmer. She has been taking care of her fields, where she grows potatoes and peas, for ten years. She sells the potatoes and peas after every harvest at the central market in the city. “Yes, I like to work in the field. At times there are losses, but everything depends upon the attention given to the crops,” she says.

She will now work very hard on the next plantings. This is because one of her goals is to buy more agricultural land where she is able to get better income.

This is her 11th loan with MFP. She is very grateful for the trust during so many years. Therefore, she will undoubtedly make her payments responsibly.

She belongs to the “Trabajemos Unidos” [Let's Work Together] communal bank, where she is a punctual member and an active participant.

Margarita has already started planting her potatoes. Therefore, she will use all of the money to buy various sacks of fertilizers and guano from farmyard birds.
