A loan of $1,350 helped to acquire ten bags of potato seeds and fertilizer.

Viviana's story

Viviana is 36 years old and her husband, Gregorio, is 35. Together they have five children, five of whom are still students. All of them live in the house they own, which is located in a rural area.

Viviana has spent nearly twenty years working in agriculture alongside her husband. Her life is focused on caring for their land, where she spends most of her day. Their main crop is potatoes of different varieties. Their products are sold in the city’s central market, where they are offered a good price for their produce. One of their goals is to continue saving in order to acquire more land for cultivation and to thereby increase production. They have just begun to plant a new crop of potatoes.

This is Viviana’s 11th loan with Kiva partner MFP and she gives her word that she will be punctual in paying monthly installments. She is a member of the communal bank “Working Together,” a solid group that has saved her from many financial hardships.

With this loan, she will purchase ten bags of potato seeds and fertilizers with the other half.
