A loan of $775 helped to buy 2 bags of pea seeds (with 1000 soles), and the remaining 1000 soles would be to obtain fertilizer.

Nancy's story

Nancy is 33 years old, is married to Teófilo, with whom she has 3 children: Morelia who is 16 years old, Aymer who is 8 and Cristian who is 4. They live in a rented house located in a rural district.
Like all mothers in the countryside, Nancy has to manage her time to take care of her children and the crops. She grows peas, potatoes and flowers (gladiolo). "Every 4 months I plant two bags of pea seeds, from which I harvest 30 sacks" she says. She sells all of her produce at the wholesale market in her city. She also says that the sale of gladioli has more profit, as there is greater demand. The sale of these flowers is the most beneficial in the months of May and November. Her short term plans are to plant more peas.

This is her 8th loan with MFP, for which she promises to be punctual with her payment schedule. "Los Picaflores de Patay", or "Hummingbirds of Patay" , is the name of her communal bank and she likes this work system and receiving educational talks.
With these funds she will be able to purchase two sacks of pea seeds(with 1000 soles), and the remaining 1000 soles will be to acquire fertilizer.
