A loan of $775 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer.

Medardo's story

Medardo is 42-years-old and his spouse is Teodosia; they have two children, Noemí, 20 and Angélica, 16. This family lives in their own house located in a rural zone.

He works in agriculture. He plants peas twice a year since the variety he plants is harvested every six months. On the other hand, he states that the sale of flowers (gladioli) is very profitable so he says that it’s to his advantage to plant flowers because little money has to be invested in fertilizer and their sale price is good. He’s learned all this over twenty years working as a farmer. He does not neglect his other crops. His goals are focused on acquiring more farmland to expand production.

This is his 8th MFP loan so he’s committed to being punctual with his monthly installment payments. He belongs to the “Picaflores de Patay” (Patay Hummingbirds) communal bank and he’s happy to be part of such a hardworking group of members.

Medardo already has the pea and gladiola seeds so will use this money to buy several sacks of fertilizer.
