A loan of $1,000 helped to buy more clothes to stock up her business and improve her income.

María Raquel's story

María is a 31-year-old single mother living together with her daughter and her mother. She has made a living selling clothing for the last several years, a skill she learned from her mother.

She wakes up at 4:00 a.m. to prepare the merchandise, get her house cleaned up and the clothes washed. Then she wakes up her daughter, makes her breakfast and gets her ready to go to school. Later, Maria turns her focus to walking her route for work, which is around 10 to 15 kilometers long. She purchases merchandise in the country's capitol, traveling two times a week due to the fact that she can get a better price there.

The loan will be dedicated to the purchase of more clothing in order to stock up her business and improve her income. Her goal is to provide a better quality of life to her daughter and repair the roof of her home, since it has some holes through which it leaks rainwater.
