A loan of $450 helped to buy a cow.

Anibal's story

Aníbal lives in Estelí municipality, in El Regadío region. He is 38 years old, married, and has three children. He has been farming and raising cattle for 15 years. He also studied mechanics.

When he was 20 years old, Aníbal inherited 4 'manzanas' (just under 7 acres) of land from his father. He used this land for sowing corn and beans. Aníbal currently distributes his produce in his community and has the support of his family. He would like to become known for his crops in the markets in the capital city so that he can obtain a fair price for his harvests.

Aníbal is requesting a Kiva loan to buy a cow so that he can sell its milk and thereby make more income. His goal is to continue growing as a farmer and rancher, buying more cows so that he can increase the size of his herd, sell their milk, and thereby diversify his income.
