Riziki Mupya Group's story

Nankafu, the representative of the business group Riziki Mupya, is an entrepreneur, married woman about 48 years old, the mother of 13 children. All of Nankafu's children attend school, and them are solicitors, lawyers, and university students. Nankafu is a seller of used clothing and an authorized distributor of mobile phone cards. Her husband is a high-ranking government official with the State Airways Agency (RVA).

Nankafu began her business with her own funds. She sets her merchandise out by the side of the road, at the customs entrance of RD Congo-Rwanda. She has been doing this for 16 years. During this time, Nankafu has completed 17 loans with Hekima's microcredit program. This new loan will allow her to stock up with one bundle of second-hand clothing. Additionally, she hopes to send her children to school. Nankafu thanks Hekima for its activities helping poor women who are excluded from traditional banking institutions.
