A loan of $575 helped buy organic fertilizer for use in planting her potato crop.

Margarita's story

Margarita is 34 years old and she and her daughter, Nery, live in her Mother's home with her sisters.

Margarita's principal income is derived from agriculture. Since childhood, Margarita has been learning this occupation, as her parents were farmers. At present, she lacks her own land but this hasn't discouraged her. Margarita keeps on working with much determination to be able to buy a car to transport her and her husband.

Their main crops are potatoes, beans, and peas, which they cultivate with great care, in order to cover the cost of renting the land. Also, they work with other farmers, with whom they share the costs of planting and the earnings. Now, they are saving money to buy their own agricultural fields.

Margarita belongs to the “Central Checche” solidarity group and this is her 3rd loan through MFP. She hopes to continue receiving this financial help, since she likes to work with her association, where each day, she learns new things concerning business. Also, Margarita promises to be punctual in making her payments. Margarita will use this loan to buy organic fertilizers for planting potatoes; this is the season for planting large crops.
