Michael's story

Michael lives in Mariakani area of Coast Province, Kenya. He is married and has three children. For the past four years, Michael has owned a retail shop that he started from a savings scheme where individuals contribute a certain amount and the total is lent to one person in turn. Michael learned about Milango through friends who invited him to the group and he joined to access credit to improve his business operations. Michael's main challenges are price fluctuations, inflation, seasonal weather, and purchasing stock.

Michael is requesting a 41,850 KES loan to buy stock and pay for his children’s school fees. He will use the extra income from his loan to add to his savings to build rental houses. In the future, Michael hopes to purchase a piece of land and continue to provide education for her education.
