A loan of $3,725 helped a member to purchase wholesale jewellry and cosmetics.

Los Amigos Group's story

The communal bank "The Friends" is made up of nine members, six women and three men. The president of the bank is Sra. Bertha. She is 30 years old and has a one year old son. Sra. Bertha sells cosmetics via catalog, and sells these products by walking around and visiting public and private homes and offices in Santa Cruz where she offers her products.

This is her first loan with the institution, and Sra. Bertha is going to use the loan to purchase wholesale cosmetics and jewellry that is also on sale. In this way she will provide a variety of products to her clientele to increase her earnings. Her motivation for asking for the loan is to be able to continue improving her business and to be able to purchase more variety of products.

Sra. Bertha is a hard working person and is happy for the opportunity that she's been offered, as some of her fellow group members are working hard to raise their families alone.
