Sr. Chester is a resident of Managua but works on his pineapple crop in the town of Ticuantepe. The greatest difficulty that presents itself at this time is that he doesn't have sufficient capital to start growing his crop and maintain a production free of pests. He has the support of his father as his work as a security guard doesn't help much.

His production is sold in the markets of Managua. He has sown 1.5 manzanas [2.6 acres] of pineapple and he needs this loan to provide good maintenance of his crop and in this way offer a good pineapple production to his customers.

El señor Chester es habitante de Managua pero trabaja en su cultivo de piña en ticuantepe, la mayor dificultad que se le presenta en estos momentos es que no cuenta con capital suficiente para inducir su cultivo y mantener una producción sin plagas, cuenta con el apoyo de su papa ya que su trabajo como guarda de seguridad no le ayuda mucho, su producción la comercializa en los mercados de Managua, actualmente tiene sembrado 1.5 manzanas de piña, el crédito lo requiere para darle el buen mantenimiento a su cultivo y así ofrecer una buena producción de piña a sus clientes.

Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it.
