A loan of $5,125 helped a member to buy men and women's clothing such as T-shirts, shirts, trousers, and so on.

Las Amigas Group's story

The Las Amigas communal bank is made up of 17 female members who all work in various fields, from selling clothes to making them. All the women in this communal bank are responsible and enterprising, many of them want to increase their customer base as well as to improve their businesses in order to generate large income and thereby improve the quality of life of their family members. The women contribute a lot to the family income whether it is paying for food, rent, education fees among other costs.

One of the members, Blanca, works in the sale of second-hand clothes for men and women. Blanca already has a regular customer base as she sells her clothes at a low and accessible price. The loan she is seeking will be used to buy a larger volume of goods in order to offer a wider variety of clothes, and thereby increase sales.
