A loan of $575 helped to remove timber trees from his land.

Rodolfo's story

Rodolio is 37 years old. He is a hard worker who strives for self-improvement. His partner is Brin, and they have two children together, who are twelve and ten years old. They live in the house they bought as a result of their hard work.

He has 148 acres of land, twelve of which he is using to grow oil palm, since there is currently quite a demand for this product as an alternative crop. He has been in this business for nearly eight years and he works with two people who help him with all the fieldwork and the harvesting. He also has two cows he keeps for breeding pursposes. For that he hires four people who are in charge of fully taking care of his animals. Finally, three years ago he set up a small sawmill where he sells timber and offers cutting services. In the future he plans to venture into planting other crops like sugar cane. He also wants to add to his cattle, and will have to keep working hard to do so.

This is his seventh loan with MFP and he is grateful for the financial support he is receiving, since it will help him get things done. He also says he is comfortable with his communal bank, because he believes its members are kind and supportive people.

He will invest the amount requested, 1,500 nuevos soles, in the removal of timber trees that grow on his land. He will use whatever profit he obtains from the timber to start specifying his other plans.
