A loan of $775 helped to extend his papaya crops, to buy boxes for selling, and to hire a transport service to deliver his produce.

Ivan's story

Twenty-six-year-old Iván is a hardworking, helpful, and kind man. His partner is Diana and together they have a three-year-old son. He owns his home, where he lives with his parents, his partner, and his young son.

His business is farming and he has 9 ha of land, of which three are sown with papaya. He has been doing this work for 13 years and since he started he has been working with five laborers who take care of all the field work, from preparing the land for planting to harvesting and selling the produce. He sells the papayas in "javas," or sterilized boxes, as his main clientele are supermarkets or wholesale markets from other cities that demand high quality produce. He likes this work because of the good profits he earns. He tells us that a lot of the time the hot climate keeps him from doing his work well because he gets tired quickly in the field. However, he knows that with hard work and dedication he will get ahead. That is why he is hoping to extend his crops and he also wants to achieve a personal goal related to his technical studies in heavy machinery.

This is his third loan with MFP and he thanks everyone who keeps believing in him by giving him access to financing again, which will help him increase his working capital. He knows that once again he will have to be very responsible and, above all, punctual, and he is happy to belong to his communal bank, as he knows them to be very supportive.

With the requeted 2,000 nuevos soles he will extend his papaya crops, buy boxes for selling, and hire a transport service to deliver his produce.
