A loan of $400 helped to invest in the harvest of her produce and transportation service to bring her produce to the city.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is 42 years old. She is a hardworking and earnest woman who is also cheerful and friendly. She has been a widow for four years and lives in her own house together with her five children who are 28, 17, 14, 9, and 8 years old. She loves her children lot and strives day by day to give them them very best.

Her trade is agriculture. She has five hectares of land which her late husband purchased 20 years ago, where she grows oranges, mandarines, and primarily yuca. Right now she is cultivating two hectares of land. Production has increased over the years and is generating good returns because of the demand. She shares her work with her children who provide their support and help with the fieldwork. Elizabeth likes the country life because it gives her emotional and economic peace of mind. She began this work at the insistence of her husband, with whom she shared dreams and long work days. Since then, this business has allowed her to give a better quality of life to her children. At the present time, she wishes to expand production by planting more hectares of yuca.

This is Elizabeth's fourth loan with the institution MFP and she is grateful to all of the people that have made it possible: with this loan she will feel safe to expand her business. On the other hand, she feels comfortable with her communal bank, and considers it a united and mutually supportive group.

With the amount requested, 1000 nuevos soles, Elizabeth will invest in the harvest of her produce and a service to transport it to the city for sale.
