A loan of $1,125 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Samoeun's Group's story

Samoeun, 30, lives with her husband and four children in a rural village in the Kror Kor district of Pursat province, Cambodia. All of her children are dependent on her and two of them are still in school, while the others are still small. Samoeun has struggled to feed and care for her children by farming rice on two hectares of farmland. She has been in this business for 13 years. Her husband is a soldier and a tricycle motor taxi driver. Together, they can earn about 25,000 KHR per day and manage to save about 15,000 KHR each day for the future.

Samoeun’s and her fellow group member have been members of VisionFund for three loan cycles already and they completely paid back their previous loans. Samoeun wisely and successfully used the loans from VisionFund to relieve her family’s financial burden and to buy some basic household necessities for the family. As the leader of the group, she is helping her group to apply for another loan. She wants to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and to use a portion of it to spend for labor. She hopes to grow her rice healthily, to make a living better, and to keep her children in school.
