A loan of $3,950 helped a member to buy silver jewelry to sell.

Vecinas Unidas Group's story

Regina is the coordinator of her group, Vecinas Unidas (United Neighbors). Her group is located in Samana peninsula, an area of the Dominican Republic with a nascent tourism industry, where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple, rented structure with her long-term partner and two children.

Regina is excited to be taking her seventh loan with Kiva partner Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loans and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her jewelry business by purchasing earrings, necklaces, and bracelets for her store. She will use the profits to purchase school supplies for her children, and she will save towards her dream of building her own home. She thanks you all for your support.

In this group: Regina, Constancia, Yunior, Santa, Berkis, Juana, Eneroliza, Jackelin, Ysidro*, Apolonia, Francisco, Amparo, Carlos, Teresa, Adelaida
