A loan of $1,425 helped a member to buy three superior piglets.

Kerta Jaya Amerta Group's story

Kerta Jaya Amerta group gets the fifth loan from MUK. With nine members, the group's loans total 13,5M IDR. Two of the previous members resigned because they have enough savings to run their businesses on their own, but the group also has one new member. One member was ill and could attend the meeting, and is therefore not pictured.

The loan will be used to buy piglets and repair cages. Ni Nengah, the head of the group, will be using her portion of the loan to buy three superior piglets. The price for a superior pig is currently very expensive, ranging from 400,000 - 500,000 IDR. These pigs will be maintained for five months for fattening. Ni Nengah expects that during the loan period, the pig will be able to develop properly, without being attacked by disease. With this effort, she will improve her savings in order to buy a motorcycle.
