A loan of $775 helped to buy natural fertilisers to scatter over her alfalfa and artichoke crops.

Victoria's story

Victoria is 54 years old and is married to Oscar with whom she has two children, only one of whom still lives with them. They bought the house they live in 13 years ago.

When she was a little girl she began to look after her parents' crops, and she used to spend hours with her siblings in the fields. She now has 30 years experience in agriculture and she sows alfalfa, artichokes and potatoes. Victoria's secret is to sell her products in the city of Lima, where the price is a lot higher. She also obtains another income from renting her pastures to farmers to feed their animals. The same pastures also help her to feed her own animals. She has cows, guinea pigs and sheep, which she fattens up to sell occasionally.

She belongs to the "Virgen de la Candelaria" solidarity group and this is her fourth loan with MFP. During all this time she has worked very hard to continue with her objectives, and she promises to be punctual with her repayments as in her association she was taught to be responsible. Victoria will use this money to buy natural fertilisers to scatter over her alfalfa and artichoke crops.
