A loan of $800 helped buy cosmetics, animal feed, and fabric.

Dolores Margarita's story

Señorita Dolores is in her sixth loan cycle with La Esquina Community Bank. She lives in the neighbourhood of Miraflores in Cuenca, a city whose inhabitants are warm, friendly, and kind. They still maintain their traditions and culture. The town displays its roots as a colonial city through its architecture, and it is possible to visit various places inside and outside the city.

Dolores is single and lives with her parents with whom she shares household expenses. The house where they live belongs to her parents.

Dolores started selling cosmetics ten years ago. Whenever she has the chance, she sells to her friends and acquaintances. As she is also a professional seamstress, she also does all kind of alterations and sewing, and rents out costumes for different occasions. Dolores also raises guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs and cows. She plans to use the loan money to buy cosmetics, feed for the animals, and fabric for her sewing business. Her goal is to grow her businesses.
