Pheng S. is 49 years old and lives in Kampong Cham province where one child is employed as a garment worker; another child is a logger; and yet another is married and lives on their own. Mrs. Pheng S. owns a plot of farm land, where she grows rice, normally making less than one dollar per day. Her husband is a construction worker, who builds houses and sometimes has to go outside of the village to do the construction. He makes three dollars of profit per day.

Pheng S. would like to borrow some money from Kiva to purchase fertilizers to make her harvest more productive each year.
