Adriana is the coordinator of her group, Creciendo Para el Futuro 1, 2 & 3 (Growing for the Future). Her group is located in Samana, a lush and rugged peninsula with a nascent tourism industry. She is a single young mother with a child. Her immediate goals are to take care of her child and finish university.

For six years Adriana has worked hard to pay her university fees by cooking and delivering food to people. She has been growing her food service business by increasing her inventory and clientele. In addition to paying school fees, she is also saving her profits and using them to finish building herself a shop on a plot of land next to her house.

Adriana is excited to be taking her ninth loan with Esperanza. She repaid previous loans that allowed her to grow her service. She plans to use her share of this 158,000 DOP loan to buy rice, meat, vegetables, beans and other foods to cook for her lunches and dinners.

Adriana is dreaming of becoming a professional and having a successful business. She thanks you all for your support!!

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
