A loan of $575 helped to buy the ingredients she needs to prepare her dishes.

Isabel's story

Isabel, 50, is a hardworking, dedicated woman who very much wants to get ahead. She’s lived with Antonio for the last 19 years and they have three children who are 17, 15 and 10 years old. She lives in her own house that she built with much effort and drive.

Her activity is selling traditional regional dishes (grilled meat, chicken, pork and fish). To do so, she installs tables, chairs and her stove in her front yard and there takes care of customers kindly and cordially. She works every day from 6pm on. She’s been in business five months and works alone. She likes her business because she can earn income to cover some of her household expenses and the daily needs that arise in raising her children. On the other hand, she’s not happy when the price of ingredients she uses rises suddenly cutting into her profits. She plans to continue in business expanding it with better chairs and tables to provide more customer comfort.

This is her second MFP loan and she’s grateful for the financial support she’s getting to continue in business and advance with her plans. She comments that she feels good in her communal bank because she considers each of the members to be a responsible, good person.

She will use the requested 1500 new soles to buy all the ingredients she needs to prepare her dishes (rice, oil, potatoes and others).
