A loan of $675 helped to purchase bedspreads, women's clothing, and home accesories.

Diana's story

Diana lives in the southwestern area of the city, where she has been working in retail for six years. The main items she sells are clothing items, bedspreads, sheets, and home accessories. She makes credit and cash sales among neighbors, friends, family members, and referrals, who make up her list of customers. Her business has allowed her to achieve the goal she set when she started out, which was none other than to generate enough income to cover her home expenses. By working approximately eight hours a day, she has managed to keep her business going, and her goal for prosperity is to expand more and more until she makes it into a large shop where she can offer all the products the customers in her neighborhood need.

Diana makes cash purchases every week according to the orders she receives from her customers. Her investment depends a lot on how much she has recovered from outstanding accounts. This often prevents her from being as efficient as her customers require, which is why she has turned to a Kiva loan. This is the first time she requests financing from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, and she will use it to buy bedspreads, women's clothing, and home accessories, so that she may increase sales and, accordingly, her projected earnings, which she plans to use to keep increasing her own well-being, as well as that of those around her.
