A loan of $800 helped to buy a photocopying machine.

Lizeth's story

Lizeth’s single and has a school age son. She lives in her parents’ house in a single room; the house is located in the city of El Alto’s Río Seco zone.

She currently earns income from a bookstore she has in a locale under the ‘anticrético’ modality [transaction whereby a property owner requests a "loan" from you in exchange for housing, which must be paid back to you at the end of your contract. If your loan is not repaid, the property owner could lose the property to you]. Lizeth tends to her store all day for more than 10 hours and uses what she earns to help with her family’s utility and food costs since she’s the only one who covers expenses.

She needs the loan go buy a photocopying machine because she wants to improve her income by offering photocopies to her customers thus earning more income to increase her stock in the store.

Lizeth’s dream is to earn higher income to become independent and have more comfort and improve her quality of life. This is her first loan request to IMPRO and KIVA.
