A loan of $1,000 helped to buy supplies for her farming business.

Francisca Bremilda's story

Francisca, 64, and her husband live with their grandchildren in Pueblo Viejo, a canton in the Ecuadorean province of Los Rios. They have 7 children.

The UNIDO SOMOS community bank is located in El Maranon, a rural town in Pueblo Viejo. The bank's members earn their livings from farming businesses. They grow maize, rice and beans.

Francisca has grown maize, rice and beans for 8 years. She buys what she needs from Comercial Lopez in Ventana and sells what she produces in the markets at Ventanas and El Maranon.

Francisca is applying for a loan that she will use to buy supplies for her next crop. Your loans will help her to make enough money to support herself and her family and overcome the various challenges she faces, from plant diseases to poor weather. For the future, she wants to buy a house of her own.

She enjoys taking care of her house and helping her husband on the farm.
