A loan helped a member to increase the clothes she has to sell and purchase missing items for her two other businesses.

Ileje Group's story

Kankela, who is in her early 40s, is single with one boy who still goes to school. She has been running a clothes business for one year now. She works from 9am to 6pm daily and she is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be her second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy more clothes and paid household expenses; she has paid back all her loans successfully. She wants a new loan to increase the clothes in her shop and add missing items to her two new businesses – a grocery store and a restaurant. Her dream is to one day be able to buy a plot and build her own house.

She will share loan with her loan group "Ileje" which has 14 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Kankela, Philipo, Swahibu, Naomi, Sureta, Aida, Swadaka, Antoni, Theresia, Saumu, Saidi, Bakari, Zuhura, Arnold
