A loan of $200 helped a member to buy materials for constructing a decent latrine.

Sokhoeurn's Group's story

Sokhoeurn, 49 years old, is married and has four children. To support the family, she has been working as a rice farmer and her husband is a soldier. They have been in the rice faming business for almost thirty years and currently earn about KHR 20,000 per day to meet the family’s needs. Sokhoeurn’s group consists of five female members all living in the same village of the Kandal Stoeng district's Kandal province. Sokhoeurn is in her fourteenth loan cycle with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. The past loans have helped her to better support her family. Sokhoeurn will use her portion of this loan to buy materials such as a latrine pan, sewage and tile drains, etc. for constructing a decent latrine. She hopes this loan will enable her family to have a clean latrine to get healthy and to improve their lifestyle.
