Emerita's story

Emerita is 53 years old. She is a very charismatic woman, hard-working and with the will to continue forward. She is married to Marcos, who is employed. She has two children, but they are already adults and independent. She now lives with her husband and her parents, who are of advanced age.

Her business is selling books, for which she has arranged a space in her home. In this way she saves on the costs of renting. She obtains her merchandise by buying weekly in the principal city, which is 35 km from her town. She tends the store every day, from very early hours, with the help of her husband. She began this business 5 years ago, and in this time she has become very well known and sought after in the district where she lives. What she likes about her job is that her work is recognized in the area, since she sometimes participates in events such as fairs or reading awards organized by educational institutions. In addition, her business generates income that gives her the tranquility to face the expenses that are presented to her during the day. She comments that she chose this business out of the need to have a job and feel like a productive woman. Therefore, she has a great will to continue growing in her work and expand her business.

This is her 9th loan with the MFP institution. She has always been characterized within her group as a responsible person, and she is happy for the opportunity that they offer her to make a good investment. In addition, she is sure that she will continue making her loan payments on time, as she has done up to now, and she is very committed to the group she belongs to and doesn't want to make a bad impression, either with them or with the institution.

With the amount she has applied for, 1000 PEN, she will buy school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, crayons, and learning games to increase the stock in her store. Her investment with each purchase will exceed 500 PEN.
