A loan helped to purchase stock of dried fish to sell in her store.

Manth's story

Manth is in a direct selling business from a rented booth at a local market, situated in Reussey Keo district, Phnom Penh. She especially sells dried fish that she makes out of fresh fish to her customers, generating a good income of 7.00 USD each day on average. Her husband is also running the same type of business but he does it at mobile markets around his neighborhood. They both have been involved in this for almost two years. Manth is 47 years old and responsible for five single children.

Manth would like to increase her stock of dried fish to sell in her store, but due to inadequate capital she has applied for a loan from HKL and Kiva. This loan will enable to her to sustain her current business as well as to make a consistent income to support her living needs. She hopes that lenders will keep lending loans to her, so that her standard of living will improve gradually.
