A loan of $400 helped to buy surgical supplies and medicines for his veterinary practice.

Juan Manuel's story

Juan is a hardworking young man who is 21 years of age. He has plenty of drive to succeed. Juan lives with his mother, who serves as his right arm and has given him the motivation to move forward. His home is located in the city of Pisco, which is known for having a warm and pleasant climate. There are also beautiful beaches and tourist attractions such as “Las Islas Ballestas” and “Candelabro de Paracas”. Agriculture is developed in this area, particularly the cultivation of cotton, corn, and other crops. Whenever he has free time, Juan likes to play soccer with his friends and neighbors from the area. He also enjoys one of his favorite dishes, the flavorful “carapulcra con sopa seca” (a spicy Peruvian stew served with dried potatoes).

With great effort and determination, Juan works at his small business providing veterinary services. He already finished his studies in veterinary medicine and has been working for one year. In his business, he works approximately nine hours a day and can serve up to 15 clients per week. Juan believes he is doing well in his business because he is friendly with his clients and he enjoys what he does.

Juan is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to their support, he will be able to buy surgical supplies and medicines. This will enable him to provide better service to his clients and allow him to continue working. Juan continues to pursue his greatest dream of owning a house and finding a location for his veterinary clinic.
