A loan of $600 helped to buy seeds and farm supplies.

Lilia Esperanza's story

Lilia Esperanza, 58, is single and has a 39-year-old son; she lives with her son in the city of Ventanas, Los Ríos Province. She’s a member of the “Bruniquilde” communal bank located in Recinto Calabi that belongs to Ventanas Canton; they work in agriculture.

Lilia Esperanza grows corn and rice. She requests the loan to buy seeds, supplies, fertilizer, urea, manure and weed killer. She will make her purchases in Ventanas or in San Carlos every 15 days. With help from the loan she will be able to buy the farm supplies.

The challenge she faces is infestations in her crops and her dream is to buy a field in order to plant more hectares of land. In her free time she likes to play and be with her family.
