Rosaura Cristina's story

Rosaura Cristina, 32, is married and lives with her husband and two children, ages 11 and 9, in the Pueblo Viejo canton in Ventanas, Los Ríos Province. The UNIDO SOMOS [We Are United] communal bank is in El Marañón, Puerto Pechiche parish, Pueblo Viejo canton. The communal bank members are seasonal farmers who grow corn, rice and beans. Rosaura grows corn, rice, and beans. She buys her products at the Karlita agricultural supply center and sells at the Castillo center. She is requesting the loan to plant corn, rice, and beans and to buy seeds, urea, farm supplies, and fertilizers for the crops. The loan will give Rosaura financial help to meet these needs. Facing challenges like pests, diseases, and weather changes will be easier with the loan because she will be able to buy the supplies. Rosaura's dream is to buy farmland and produce much more. She likes to play sports in her free time.
