Badenyakadi 4 Group's story

The members of the Badenyakadi 4 group are married women, on average 35 years old with 5 children, and all live in polygamous households in Saniena, one of the towns in Sikasso, the 3rd administrative region of Mali.
They work with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to manage their agricultural activities during the rainy season.
They are on their second loan with the institution, and the previous loan was repaid properly.
Bibata, standing in the middle in the photo, grows peanuts.
With her loan, she intends to buy seeds and agricultural inputs to cultivate 1 hectare.
The produce is sold at the town level at the Sikasso market after the harvest to a clientele composed of men and women.
She intends to realize an average profit of 150,000 FCFA per cycle.
This profit will allow her to repay her loan and also to help her husband with the daily household expenses.
