A loan of $675 helped to purchase spaghetti.

Assétou's story

Assétou is 31 years old, married, and the mother of 3 children. She lives in a large traditional extended family with her husband and her children in Kaboîla II, one of the popular neighborhoods of the city of Sikasso.

Assétou started her business of purchase and resale of spaghetti more than 2 years ago, after having tried many other businesses without success. She runs her business from her home and is much sought-after by her customers for the quality of her products. Her customers come to purchase these in bulk in order to resell them at retail.

In order to meet the growing needs of her customers, she decided to rejoin the microfinance organization Soro Yiriwaso. This is her third loan, and the two previous loans were fully repaid. Assétou plans to use this third loan to purchase 50 boxes of spaghetti of various quality from wholesalers.

Assétou hopes that with this loan, she will earn an average monthly profit of 150,000 francs CFA which will be primarily used to contribute to her family's expenses and to pay the interest on her loan, and the rest will be reinvested in her business.
