A loan of $550 helped to purchase pigs.

Oscar Moises's story

Oscar lives with Olga and their child in San Miguel de los Bancos canton in Pichincha province. San Miguel de los Bancos is located 94 km. from the capital and is very wet and humid. It is between 550 to 1800 meters high. It is believed that the canton derives it name from a past period when large trees were cut down and the trunks that remained were used as large benches for people. Los Bancos, being an important transit city between the mountains and many coastal cities, has grown a good deal during recent years. Apart from eco-tourism the city is sustained by agriculture and stockbreeding.

Oscar is a pig trader. He works around 12 hours a day and he does so alone. When he has spare time he plays sports. He is requesting this loan because he wants to invest in his business so that it will grow and attract more customers. He will use the money he expects to receive from this investment to support his house and child.
