Kifayat's story

Kifayat is a 45-year-old woman. She is an internally displace person (IDP) who lives in the Bilasuvar IDP settlement with her parents. She is a farmer and has raised seasonal fruits and vegetables for the last 10 years. She chose this business because it is profitable and fresh crops are in high demand. People use fresh vegetables every day and consider them healthy. Many national dishes are made of vegetable, like pilau and dolma. Fresh fruits are on every Azerbaijani family table and also are used to make fresh punch.

Kifayat sells her crop in the central bazaar. Her monthly income is 60 AZN. Her father actively helps her to raise her crops.

As this products are in high demand, Kifayat wants to expand her business and produce more fruits and vegetables to cover market demand. For this she has applied for 1,500 AZN. She will buy new garden tools, seeds, and fertilizers, as well as one milking cow.
