A loan of $3,250 helped to purchase farming equipment.

Alexandr's story

Aleksandr is a beginning farmer. For the past year he has been growing raspberries, cabbage, tomatoes, and onions. His 25 year-old son, who is a private businessman, helps him out on the farm. Aleksandr began his farming career by building a small (50 cubic meters) greenhouse in which he grows early tomatoes and cabbage. To develop his farming business, Aleksandr decided to buy 150 sazhens (320 meters) of plums and 200 sazhens (425 meters) of blackberries. His immediate plan is to buy an irrigation system for the raspberries and blackberries. The biggest goal in Aleksandr's plans is to build a new house.
