A loan of $375 helped a member to build a proper latrine.

Norn's Group's story

Norn lives in a rural village located in the Sa Ang district of Kandal province of Cambodia. She is 56-years old and widowed with three children. She has struggled to make a living through farming rice on one and a half hectares of farmland for thirty-three years. The current business earns her approximately 10,000 KHR per day and she manages to save about 5,000 KHR each day after daily expenses. This is the first loan for Norn’s group with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. She and her group members are requesting a loan with VisionFund of 500,000 KHR each. As the leader, Norn is going to use her portion to build a proper latrine. She hopes this loan will enable her family to have a clean latrine for daily consumption improving a healthy standard of living.
