A loan of $125 helped to buy used clothes, quilts and sheets.

Lorenza Del Carmen's story

Lorenza, 51, originates from the region of Canoas, Teustepe. She sells drinks, curds and used clothing.

She started this business 18 years ago when her husband died, she took on the role of head of the family, being both father and mother to her children, taking care of the household expenses and her children's education.

She began selling drinks and curds, which she made herself, by going from house to house. It was meeting her customers that taught her what products would sell well and which were in the greatest demand.

Used clothes are among the most requested by housewives in the communities where she sells her products, above all because this type of clothing is the cheapest, the quilts and sheets are also among her best selling items.

This is why she requires a loan to buy used clothes, quilts and sheets. It is her goal to be able to sell a greater variety of products and grow as a sales woman, making her business economically sustainable.
